Lots of companies were prepared to either close down or relocate if Scotland left the UK. God knows what would happen if every company that did business between Scotland and England had to deal with different laws and a hard boarder. How would the health service work? IT would be years if not decades of utter chaos and uncertainity and no matter what the ultimate result was, economically it will be weaker than unified UK. I think people get hung up on the word "independence" by itself and completely lose track of what they are actually talking about. This isn't a mom telling you to clean your room. It's more like removing the room from the home entirely and then claiming it's better when you're stuck in a disembodied cold single room with no floor and no electricity, no bathroom ,no kitchen, no fridge and one bad weather day away from colasping due to no structual support.
