No, it is not worse. I don't know your experience with EV training, but your lead Pokemon is never the one that wants EVs. It's just a higher level to train the rest. If you're EV training, you load the intended Pokemon to be trained with vitamins, attach exp share, use vs. seeker/sweet scent/whatever the game specific method is, then use a higher level lead Pokemon to wipe the enemy and repeat.

You don't carry around a newborn Pokemon you'd been breeding into random battles. If you're going to EV train, you EV train. The moment after you get the nature, ability, and IVs you want, you load him up on vitamins and go straight to training. Depending on the game, an hour at most to finish (ridiculously faster if you have power items or Pokerus).

And regardless of all that, EV training is much easier in SwoSh. You don't have to train it traditionally; you can just feed it all the vitamins you want to cap out stats (granted it costs a half million per Pokemon and can be hard to start up).

Yes, being unable to turn off Exp Share is annoying, but it is not detrimental to EV training at all.
