Topic | Simple question about laptop HDD/SSD removal/re-installation |
streamofthesky 12/08/19 12:49:00 PM #1: | Pretty simple, really. I just installed a 2.5" HDD in a laptop, but realized after the fact that it's a bit "loose" and that's due to being 7 mm thick while as this laptop was built for a 9.5 mm thick drive. Apparently these newer models often come with spacers to help with this issue, but I lucked out and bought from a company that doesn't do this. :( So...i found a spacer on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Edge-7mm-9-5mm-Spacer-Adapter/dp/B014LQM6I2 I just want to make absolutely sure... I already formatted and partitioned this drive, but it is not the C drive (ie, doesn't have the operating system). I should be totally fine turning off the laptop's power, removing the drive, applying this spacer, re-inserting it, and powering the computer back on....right? ... Copied to Clipboard! |
