| WhiskeyDisk 12/08/19 1:42:59 AM #31: | On a more serious note, I'm sure it comes as no surprise that scotch/whiskey/bourbon is my wheelhouse. I prefer scotch and Irish whiskey. I like my scotch on the dryish side and my Irish as smoky, mossy, and peaty as I can find. As far as cheap whiskeys go, I have a real soft spot for Cutty Sark. Bourbon is my least favorite of the three, as many, even good ones tend to be a bit...witch hazel-y to my palate. The biggest surprise in my exploration of what is out there is the Suntory/Hibaki Japanese whiskeys. America, Scotland, England, Ireland, Canada...Anglo nations I would all expect to crank out decent product given their shared heritages. I'm blown away that the Japanese make some amazing whiskeys.
