On a more serious note, I'm sure it comes as no surprise that scotch/whiskey/bourbon is my wheelhouse.

I prefer scotch and Irish whiskey. I like my scotch on the dryish side and my Irish as smoky, mossy, and peaty as I can find. As far as cheap whiskeys go, I have a real soft spot for Cutty Sark.

Bourbon is my least favorite of the three, as many, even good ones tend to be a bit...witch hazel-y to my palate.

The biggest surprise in my exploration of what is out there is the Suntory/Hibaki Japanese whiskeys. America, Scotland, England, Ireland, Canada...Anglo nations I would all expect to crank out decent product given their shared heritages. I'm blown away that the Japanese make some amazing whiskeys.

That's like white girls with dreds or good Irish sake.
