My old mobile home I bought for $20k back in the 90's is worth over $200k now (Sadly I lost it in 2011.....cry), but there are many cases of that all over....you can still buy a mobile home for $30k or so, and it's quite likely to go up in price in the next 10 years drastically, meanwhile because it's so cheap the monthly payments are almost non-existant, and depending on where you live, your lot rent can be cheap as well. They are really nice still though, and you can build a family in one. People put them down, but honestly I have lived in really nice homes, but I liked my mobile home the best.
