Standard medical practices have already laid out the way abortion OUGHT to be treated, which is that the personhood of the fetus is actually completely irrelevant; even if you view a fetus as a human being, you STILL cannot violate the autonomy of the mother to preserve that fetus. If we don't do it to corpses, we shouldn't do it to women. But generally speaking most pro-lifers are coming from a position of misinterpreting religious texts + complete ignorance about both medicine and women's bodies.
