Those are meant for power outages I thought.

A surge is a bit different.
Everyone should have a surge protector.

And also, the UPS's are generators I think.
I wondering what kind of sinewave they put out.
I never thought about that until now.


I'm not an expert on this but my understanding was if you have potentially irregular electricity, the artificial sinewave generated by a decent UPS will help reduce risk of issues with your PSU. It's not really an issue for me but just something I remember reading and thought may as well invest in protecting my $5k desktop and prevent data corruption if power suddenly goes out.


I think what you wanted was a surge protector.
Unless you experience a lot of power outages.

And as for the sine wave thing.
It's hard to find a good Pure Sine Wave generator, or converter..which is what this is.
So I would imagine, they are not putting out a pure sine wave. idk...

Either way, unless you lose power all the time, a surge protector is probably what you need.
