Was briefly tempted by that when I saw it in the Black Friday listings. Is there a value to the new game+? Or does it not add much?

I also saw that it mentioned having other characters. Are those just for side missions or can you use them for the full main campaign?

Not anymore value than most NG+ modes. You keep nearly everything except for the abilities that acted as plot gates to keep you from going off the rails, those like half dozen abilities are lost. But you do keep the one that lets you zoom around super fast (which on its own makes revisting the areas way more fun, and makes speed run attempts a lot more interesting, if you like that sort of thing) and again like...98% of the rest, so it can be pretty fun to replay with all of that stuff, and it makes getting the boss medals (awarded if you beat a boss w/o being hit at all) much easier the 2nd time through.

I stopped playing Bloodstained like 2 months ago, and as of then the additional characters had yet to be added. It's supposedly coming, if it ever does that will probably be when I replay the game. AFAIK the bonus characters are meant to be for a full playthrough. And at least one of them that was promised would play quite differently than Miriam.

It's a great game in any case, and apparently on sale for like $20 or so, so it's easily worth that. I was a kickstarter backer, so I paid $60...
