I read a bit about it and many things are staying the same. There will be a skill tree and there will be prestige classes (Think they said 19 new ones?). You have to start fresh in the 2.0 version as well, they did not state if you could use the new classes in the old campaign (and then carry them over).

Getting rid of sockets/links is actually an over all good thing at this point because they have become almost obsolete at this point, even in a new ladder you can get a 6 socket right away and if you play a bit you can also craft stuff pretty easy (including specific socket colors etc).

As they add more and more stuff to the current game, power creep has been getting kind of rediculous, so hopefully 2.0 will help with that somewhat. I can start from scratch and be doing maps in a day or so at this point after a new league starts and I'll have at least 1 6 socket by the third day (with the colors I want) pretty much every time.

Part of it is just getting better at the game, but some of the additions have helped you get currency way faster etc as well.....which speeds everything up (also makes it easier to get 6 socket items which reduces the price for them etc).

I mean a year ago I was happy getting a 5 socket item with colors I like within a week. Now I don't usually even bother with a 5 socket item anymore, I skip right to 6, and then eventually to a 6 socket with stats I really like etc.
