I was a huge weeb for a few years, and I never played anything other than Pokemon Blue or watched more than 2 or 3 episodes of the show, because by the point it came out I was already watching stuff like Fist of the North Star, Record of Lodoss War, Urusei Yatsura, Fushigi Yugi, etc. Though honestly, based on what I've seen from younger weebs today, I'd argue Dragon Ball Z is more baby's first anime. Or maybe Naruto. Given the nature of Pokemon, I wouldn't consider it a path to weebdom.
