I can see this changing, and yes, that would be constitutional. No, it wouldn't be, because it would likely violate the First Amendment. Part of the First Amendment's protection is that the government cannot compel speech from you. If I do not want my platform used to magnify certain messages, the government cannot force me to air those messages over my own objections. Notably, this has business implications beyond the liability you're zeroing in on. Let's say I'm Google and I'm in a battle for eyeballs against other tech giants. Suddenly, a group of white supremacists start using my site to air their shitty views and word of that gets out to the media. At that point, I have two options - kick the fuckers off my site, or tolerate them and risk having the rest of my non-shitty users switch over to a different platform that is more willing to keep white supremacists and other forms of human trash away. If the government forces me to keep those people around, it's going to hurt my bottom line. As a business owner, I should not suffer because the government wants me to broadcast messages I do not support and which are actively harmful to my business. --- Kill 1 man: You are a murderer.
