Florida Sheriff Wayne Ivey has doubled down on his plans to REFUSE to remove the decalson police patrol cars that say "In God We Trust" after a complaint from ATHEISTS who say cops should rely on law rather than a DEITY!!

He even said they are redesigning the marked vehicles with new graphics that include the American flag and the holy phrase as they say it's the OFFICIAL MOTTOT of the US and Florida.

Atheists and Agnostics criedfoul who said it was inappropriate and exclusionary as the Freedom From Religion Foundation condemned it stating "Spending taxpayers time placing religious messages on patrol cars is beyond the scope of secular government" said Annie Laurie Gaylor

She said "Further,in a time when citizens nationwide are increasingly distrustful of law enforce officers actions, it is frightening and politically dubious for the local police department to announce to citizens that officers rely on the judgement of a deity rather than on the judgement of the law"

Ivey DEFENDED it stating the community at large supports it and said it wouldn't cost them any money as an organization called Boniface Heirs Automative Group is sponsoring it

He told Fox News "They have a better chance of me waking up thin tomorrow morning than they do of me taking that motto off our cars!"

He doubled down again and told Fox and Friends, "It was the right thing to do and we're standing by it" and County Commissioner John Tobia is standing by it who said that phrase will LOWER CRIME RATES in Brevard County as he thinks everyone should have more FAITH in their lives.

In July 1956, President Dwight Eisenhower signed a law requiring the motto to appear on all American Currency as Advocates of separation of church and state have criticized the word God but police say "God" does not refer to a specific God and thus does not endorse any religion as there could be "different gods" although athiest groups say they know full and well they mean a CHRISTIAN GOD..
