That sucks. I similarly lost my dad to a stroke that came out of nowhere when he was 60 (9 days off of being exactly 5 years ago, actually), and it was not a good time. Condolences and whatnot.

Though your life isn't ruined. Different, yes, and you're going to be terribly sad for a while, but you'll move past that.
