My initial strategy was to let the south village get destroyed and then put hector on the mountain space right beside it. This was convenient because once a village becomes ruins it's difficult to move through, like a forest, so I was able to manipulate enemies much easier.

Ultimately the winning strat proved to be rushing Hector south to the fort all by himself. The +1 def of the fort compared to the mountain made the difference. Even if Guy was to crit me and normal hit me in one turn, I'd live and the archers/lance users wouldn't be able to damage me at all.

Then of course in the third try I got an extra speed apparently just enough to where Guy couldn't double hit Hector anyway.
