"So let me get this straight," Goffard began, "You used to be a Dark Knight full of darkness energy but then you decided that you would rather be a Paladin and have the holy light give you strength?"

"Yeah, something like that," Cecil said.

"I for one am offended by the presumption that the darkness is somehow evil or not good. Light can blind, you know," Goffard pointed out.

"Right. So um, is there anything I can do for you or are we just going to be debating elemental alignments?"

Goffard smirked at Cecil. "Yes, as a matter of fact there is. You can die."

Cecil's eyes widened as he brought his shield up with practiced ease. "I am afraid I am no-" was all he could say before a dagger stuck out from the back of his mouth, having been firmly plunged into the back of his skull by a figure cloaked in red. Cecil's lifeless body dropped the ground in a heap.

Goffard looked at his companion. "I thought you said this was going to be difficult?"

Red Mage shrugged. "I rolled a natural 20 on stealth. It's a good day to be Champion hunting, I guess."

Goffard didn't know what that meant nor did he care. He was one step closer to his ultimate goal. More money.
