It is fictional but even the all-supposedly-good Federation in Star Trek was utilizing holograms for menial labor. On one hand, it may bring all of us together and get us to stop hating and fearing one another if we all had something new to fear and hate together. It was the meeting of other, vastly different species from other worlds that brought humanity together and got most of them mostly over their petty skin color issues.
