He was found guilty of 3 counts of cyberstalking and 1 count of transmitting a kidnap threat where he used 13 instagram accounts to target family and friends of the 17 people killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas He used aliases from serial killers and sent them messages such as "I killed your loved ones hahaha", "Your grief is my joy" and "They had their whole lives ahead of them and I...stole it from them"... His lawyers argued his AUTISM was responsible for his behaviour and said it caused reasonable doubt regarding his capacity to understand the emotional impact on his messages His public defender Daryl Wilcox said "He did not understand that these people were afraid" But prosecutors said these statements were true threats and said he knew exactly what he was doing andsaid Brandon just didnt care He said "This wasn't for attention. It was for the power, control and domination that he enjoyed" Fleury showed NO REMORSE when questioend and admitted to a fascination with the tragic event leading his decision to "troll" those affected as he wanted to target the ACTIVISTS from these families with social media presence who supported gun control measures He targeted the families of 14 y/o Jaime Guttenberg and said "I took a s* on your sister's grave" towards her brother and then wrote "Did you like my Valentine's gift? I killed your friends" Then he targeted another family member writing "How's Jamie, hun? Dead huh? I stole your sister's future buddy, with the power of my AR-15" He tried to contact her father, an anti-gun violence activist but mentioned the wrong handle He then targeted the father of Alex and Max Schachter writing how their son will never play music again. The police finally got an IP addressed traced back to Santa Ana where he lived with his father and brother and now faces a maximum of 20 years in the slammer!!
