I disagree. Careers are gated by degrees. Job opportunity is gated by degrees.

What used to just be a leg up is now a requirement.

But instead of allowing students to take classes they actually want to take, undergrad is full of filler bullshit.

One should take human nature into account. Teens and young adults who have been told how things must be done for 12 years are going to get burnt out. There are high schools that dont know how to facilitate learning. They grade notes and annotations so that a student feels inclined to only do it for the grade. Who reads when theres sites like sparknotes?

Why take college seriously when its an inflated obstacle to what people actually want to do?

I get people do fulltime work and full time school while having a family and shit. Good for them.

But dont act like college is some optional thing that people can choose to do or not. School is not like the workforce. So just because people arent motivated to do school doesnt mean they shouldnt.
