The term isn't used nearly as freely as the self-identified incels like to paint it as. If you don't call yourself an incel, nobody else will either.
That's bullshit, when the word is used to describe a movie about one of the most iconic villains in history for no conceivable reason I think it's safe to say it has been overused to the point of meaninglessness

The incels do seem to have successfully co-opted that movie, yes.

LMAO where are you getting this...clickbait shit rags like Buzzfeed and worthless tweets?

They haven't successfully co-opted anything. They don't have that kind of authority. It's generous to even refer to them as a group.
There is no cultural epidemic. It's all in your head...and apparently clickbait media successfully co-opted that.

For fuck sake, did any of you consider the Joker movie "controversy" might have just been a marketing ploy to generate buzz on a flick a bunch of people might have otherwise overlooked? Which WORKED btw. A bunch of people admittedly went to go see it just because clickbait news wouldn't shut up about it (pro or con). A lot of movie goers didn't actually care about the "incel" bullshit tagged on the flick. They just wanted to see what all the fuss was about...

The funny thing about telling others to take the high road is how often it's hypocritical advice.
