Yeah this sentence alone has so many poorly chosen words, an english speaker can clearly detect the sinister undertones of the sentence and would word it to be more corporate-diplomatic. It would probably read something more like "Ultimately, there was still a rule broken, and to keep the focus on the gameplay and event, we still believe this to be a reasonable course of action"

Yeah, that's the thing. People have brushed this off as "oh, it's just corporate speak," but no it's not, again I wouldn't describe myself as an expert but I've seen enough corporate speak in my life and this ain't it.
