Are you seriously arguing that because you've never met someone that currently lives in, let's say, Ethiopia, that you don't know other people exist in Ethiopia? And on top of that, there's no reason to care or acknowledge or place value in their existence?


While there are people in Ethiopia, you know nothing about them as individuals, far less than you even would a complete stranger because at least with a stranger you'd know what they look like. Hell, given you know so little, it's entirely possible that -- for all you know -- there is no Ethiopia at all and the entire country's existence could be a media invention. Compare that to a stranger where you definitely know they exist because they're right there.
