As I see it China is capitalizing on Hong Kong's strong global economic placement as a white-collar megalopolis and they don't have any comprehension that their way of doing things is incompatible with that culture and way of life. If they just left well-enough alone without trying to impose their own misguided ideals I think the relationship would have been mutually beneficial. Instead China is driving a wedge and doesn't seem to care what harm comes of it on both sides, which is unfortunate. --- "Imagine a world where hypothetical situations didn't exist..." ...
