Started playing Idle Heroes a month or so ago and I'm enjoying it well enough staying F2P. After a few days, I decided to leave the random guild I'd joined in order to start my own with other chill players who weren't taking it too seriously.

This one guy "Unbreakable" was one of the first to join, and he'd been pretty active. He was helping a couple of members who were newbies figure out some of the less-obvious bits of the game, sharing tips in guild chat, suggesting where to invest your early-game materials to make progress faster, etc. He seemed like a pretty great guild member. After a while, I offered to make him an Officer for being so helpful. When he accepted, I told him I had only 2 rules. First, that he not kick any members unless they've been inactive for 4+ days. People have lives outside of this game and I didn't want anyone to feel slighted just because they forgot to log in for a day or two. And second, simply don't be a dick.

Things have been fine for a couple weeks, and he's been a big help with the Guild War events since the deadlines for those events always happen in the middle of the day while I'm sleeping. And then I logged in tonight to find out that he'd kicked the strongest member of our guild because he thought the guy was being "selfish" for doing so much damage to the raid bosses and "keeping all the rewards from other members." Nevermind the fact that one person can't keep all the rewards, as it's based on your rank among the guild rather than actual damage dealt. If it's just 2 of us and I do 10 million damage to your 1 damage, you still get 2nd place rewards. -_-

Now, it was pretty clear to me that the guy had just abused his power. Unbreakable had been one of the stronger members of the guild for a while, always in the top 3 for the raid boss damage, until I managed to get an insanely lucky set of summons a couple days ago that boosted my lineup considerably and leapfrogged above him. He probably saw that he was no longer in the top 3 and just decided he wasn't happy with that, so since he couldn't kick me he just kicked the top guy to get himself back into the top 3. So I messaged Unbreakable and told him that was not okay. He'd just booted our strongest member and now we were going to get our asses kicked in the Guild War, which means less rewards for everyone. Then I removed his Officer status.

He replied an hour later, saying something in a foreign language followed by "that means I'm sorry for what I've done." Unfortunately for him, Google Translate is a thing. His saying essentially translated to "your mother's a whore, and you're a dog." O_o Needless to say, I swiftly replied telling him translation is a thing before booting him from the guild entirely. Good luck with those rewards now, buddy.

But seriously...dude had a good thing going. Being high-ranking in a guild means good rewards for basically free. And being an Officer meant he could do all the guild stuff without having to wait and hope the guild owner would do it correctly for him. Some people just lose it over the tiniest bit of power and it just boggles my mind sometimes.
