I always hate it when they ask "Why do you want to work for us?"

One of these days I'm just going to answer, "Money can be exchanged for goods and services."

The whole idea is they want to make sure you actually care about the job and did some research into the company before the interview. That is actually a great question that can tell if someone is going to actually put the effort in to succeed or just do the bare minimum to get a paycheck.

Honestly you could have probably had a discrimination suit on your hands if you wanted to pursue it, since that is basically age discrimination. I mean I have turned down candidates because they had more experience for a job then we wanted (Like, someone worked in the industry for 20 years and is applying for an entry level job), but someone interviewing you shouldn't use your age as a reason to not hire you.
