While the answer may sound trollish, PO himself is not one.

It's also the correct answer, regardless of whether or not he likes it.

It's been the official stance of the site itself and the admins for more than 15 years. If a poll doesn't represent your personal overly specific or special snowflake situation, just don't vote in the poll.

The sole purpose of the poll at this point is just to collect demographic data on users so they can sell it to advertisers, and then put annoying ads that are occasionally malware on the site, which almost no one ever sees anyway because most people here are using AdBlock or NoScript. No one is under any obligation to make extremely complicated polls with dozens of options to address the majority of possible outcomes and scenarios.

The actual creative process is basically one asshole spending all of 20 seconds thinking of what the poll for the day should be, churning it out as quickly as possible, and then not really giving a shit whether or not anyone actually votes in it or not. You're probably not going to cover the vast expanse of all human experience when the person making it is putting in the minimal amount of effort and thought to come up with 5-7 options and then never think about or care about that particular poll again.

"view results" is basically the "No option in this poll applies to me, therefore I won't vote" option.
