If you honestly believe that you need a semi-automatic rifle for home defense, then you're either insane or such an incredibly bad shot that you shouldn't own a squirt gun let alone an actual gun. The thing I don't get about the "home defense" argument is that the people espousing it never seem to also suggest that it's a good idea to have an AED in homes. Heart disease kills 610,000 Americans every year, orders of magnitude greater than the number killed by home invaders (I'm seeing 100 in one spot, but I'm having trouble pinning down exact numbers in a quick search), yet none of these people who allegedly care so much about personal safety are doing anything to address that vastly greater risk. ...
