The Animorph books didn't exist until I was already in college (and the show obvious came even later than that). I have zero nostalgia for or interest in them as a concept. It's sort of like the Goosebumps books. For a large portion of the Internet community, those are like a core part of childhood experience. For me, they came out after I already had a driver's license, and I was already reading stuff by Dean Koontz and Stephen King. By the time the first Goosebumps book had come out, I'd already read The Dark Half, Needful Things, and The Stand.
