This is probably the most depressing contest I've ran out of all of these so far. This final match, in the host's opinion, does a disservice to the contest. King of the Mountain is meant to crown basically the ultimate best of trope defining characters that fit the category. Now yes, I could have chosen to be more strict with my inclusions but I tend to air on the side of making people happy. Unfortunately this time, it's come at a great cost of my own happiness in running this contest.

This is easily the poorest example of a finals so far I think. Usually, King of the Mountain is won by what's unarguably a good representative of whatever the category is. I don't always like them (Robin Hood, Snoopy, Bowser) but no one would question them obviously. This time, I feel the finals is between a character who fits the category but isn't particularly well-known for shapeshifting versus a character who can shapeshift but is much, much better known for doing something else. It's a fact that Alucard can at least completely change his shape in many of the games/content he's in, whether that's into a wolf, into a bat or into mist. He fits into the category well enough, but I feel he's much better as a swordsman or simply as a vampire. Kirby? Yeah, he's best known for copying abilities. Copying abilities and putting on a different themed hat and gaining a weapon. While he still looks exactly the same, like Kirby. Yes it was proven to me he can morph his body in certain games he's in, but he's in no way best known for this. Characters that failed here, characters who can morph into a huge multitude of things and fully change their bodies to fit many different forms just didn't do all that well here. As a category I sought to see ran for years now, this highly frustrated me and honestly, this is a depressing part of the day to me anymore. I've felt negative about the contest before, but usually it's because participation is poor. This time, I literally just dislike what happened here. No way around it. This shouldn't be the finals, and I don't really care if you feel it's "bad form" of the host to post this here, or if you want to call me out for "whining" be my guest I suppose. As the creator of this contest, I feel it was done a disservice this time around and there's basically no good way this can end. It can either end with a character who fits the category winning, even if he's a little limited or it can end with a character far too well known for what I don't consider shapeshifting winning. It sucks.

I'll vote for Alucard again but yeah.
