You're losing more than a little. It takes many times more energy to get animals to slaughter. It's throwing away energy and killing the environment.

The team calculated that beef requires 28 times more land, six times more fertilizer and 11 times more water compared to those other food sources. That adds up to about five times more greenhouse gas emissions.

It does suck that were using a lot more energy. But thats what happens. Also, its more than the taste preference of one person...
