Casting was spot on & Eggers got the early-17th century atmosphere/aesthetic down to a T, but the film felt extremely lacking in payoff, among other things. The scene with the ~~baby~~ early on was fucking terrifying & made me nauseous, but that only made the rest of the films duration feel more dissatisfying by contrast.
