Remember all the aggression out of online passes? That seems almost quaint now. People are by and large tired of all the recurrent monetization schemes. Some still exist, but they actually provide season content, and are worthwhile after years on the market. They used to be mandatory to use the online portions of games, and to also combat loss of revenue from used game sales(to which no one has provided proof this is even a real concept.
