Part of the reason Fortnite can innovate so quickly (beyond putting their team in crunch at all times) is the fact the game makes SHIT TONS of money. That money can get funneled back into development. Apex gets shit on for not having enough new content, but then when they try to monetize COMPLETELY COSMETIC SHIT to get more money to make improvements, they get shit on too? They release underwhelming battle passes that you have to grind the shit out of to get anything even remotely decent from, and then vastly overcharge for cosmetics, that's why people are pissed off. This was always a problem with this game; you either had to get lucky with the sparse amount of apex crates the game gives you for free (the game literally hardcaps the amount you can get, once you hit 100 you can't get anymore without a battle pass or buying them), or spend a buttload of money on the featured content in the store, which you can only buy for a limited time. They charge $18 for a legendary skin you can't even see. If you want the alt for that skin when it shows up in the store, you have to own the skin first. So you have to buy the first skin if you don't own it already (you probably don't because of the rationing of loot boxes), then spend a ton of legend tokens (in-game currency you earn on level-up to buy legends) to get the alt skin. It sucks that they choose to be so greedy with the MTX. The game is really fun and I'd like to support it. But it's really not worth dumping so much money into the game for some you want. --- I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favorite user on the Citadel.
