Jim Brown

I worked at First Energy Stadium in Cleveland for a year in the commissary warehouse (we stocked all the concession stands throughout the stadium). It was before the home opener that year. I was returning through the tunnels after taking a cart up to one of the stands prepping about an hour before the gates opened and Jim Brown just happened to come up from behind me in the tunnel on his personal golf cart. I just nodded at him and said "Good morning, Mr. Brown!" as he was going by and he slowed down and chatted with me as we headed down the tunnel. It was just a couple of minutes, but he asked what I thought of the team and seemed to genuinely enjoy my thoughts on them and the hopes for the season. When we reached the split at the end of the tunnel, he offered his hand and said it was pleasure meeting me. I was floored, and I must have had the stupidest grin on my face when I got back to the warehouse because my boss asked what was up, and when I told him about meeting Jim Brown he said "You lucky bastard! I've been managing this warehouse for 5 years and even I've never gotten to talk to him!"

I also ran into Joe Thomas on the freight lift (still no idea why he was using the freight lift O_o) on a random day in the middle of the week later that season and got to shake his hand too.
