that's fine. my reasoning, especially living in such a liberal place like austin, it gets tiring. it's a topic that our few vegan friends insist on talking about every time we see them. it's almost become their identity as people, and it gets lame hearing the same thing over and over again, ok?

i don't tell people about my eating habits, which i'd argue is even more healthy than most vegans, but i keep that shit to myself, because i generally don't want to irritate others, ok?

Sounds like a very reasonable answer. I don't much like people who get wrapped up in identity like that to begin with, so I see where you're coming from. Now when vegan people talk about veganism because someone invites them to a BBQ or stuff like that, I feel it's relevant and justified. But when me, a low meat dieter, sees my co-worker eating beef, I don't launch into a tirade about their colon health.
