I personally would argue that restricting the ability of people to have adequate means of self-defense is restrictive of that right. The best defense, is a good offense. Laws restricting the ownership of firearms directly violates the Second Amendment: "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. " By the way, "well regulated" does NOT mean "regulate firearms and put limits on it".
