You can have them get married and things of that nature.This mechanic was only a minor thing in games like path of radiance but in awakening it's kind of the most important mechanic in the game. If you compare old FE to new FE entries you will see how different the support conversations are treated. Bond support went from a minor feature to where marrying chars off is basically the centre of the game --- not changing this signature until i have sex (currently 23year old virgin) ...
