Topic	IT is probably going to go down as the best adaptation of a King novel.

Completely copying isn't how you be a good adaptation. So far, imo, both tone and content have been more accurate in the original miniseries. Movie is seriously missing out on the nostalgia/coming of age stuff, which was closer like 50% of the book. Plus, Pennywise just seems...incorrect. The tone of the miniseries was awful. It was far more comedy than horror, and super campy. And the movie has tons of coming of age, the only time it really feels off is the rock war scene. And pennywise is damn near perfect.
