| XIII_rocks 07/17/19 2:51:09 PM #25: | First thought was Spiderman 2. It just felt like such a huge deal at the time, and Alfred Molina was so great. I really loved it. SpiderVerse I suppose would be a close second, I might like it more, idk. Hard to compare something that came out when I was a kid to something that came out after Spiderman in media was more...saturated. Remember the context of SpiderVerse - within an 18-month span of it we've had Spiderman Homecoming, Far From Home, Infinity War, Endgame and the PS4 game. And Venom too if that counts. "Objectively" that shouldn't matter when judging the movie alone, I know, but it does to me. I love Spiderman so I'm not sick of him or anything but there's an element of maybe...diminishing returns. Like stuff I found impressive in 2004 isn't now because I've seen Spiderman do so much stuff. MCU Spidey feels comparatively...flimsy and disposable (though certainly still good, and an upgrade on the Garfield movies), while the Raimi movies felt like true events. Everything about them seemed to matter more, so I was more invested. And also a kid. --- Not to be confused with XIII_Stones. ... Copied to Clipboard! |
