The hard drive in my current one decided to die after only 2, but I blamed that on the fact that it keeps waking itself up from sleep mode for no reason, which has caused it to get pretty hot when it does so while inside my backpack. I was able to replace the hard drive (with some difficulty; this was not a laptop that was designed to have components replaced), though, and it's still going after 4 years, including some time spent as a desktop replacement while my desktop was out of commission. --- This is my signature.
