For "equal" gender pay to be a thing, you'd need equal pay for everything because you're comparing apples to oranges. And most of the places where people get offended by it being off have pretty good reasons, like sports where ad revenue is a thing. Second, nobody has to welcome shit. While you can pass laws to make people obey almost anything you please, you can't exactly pass laws to also get them to like it. And, if you're trying to normalize something, you shouldn't want it to be "welcomed," you should want it to be treated as nothing out of the ordinary. Third, the only way you'd get people to always be pleasant to each other is if everybody was either tripping on Soma or had been lobotomized. Either way, your utopia would pretty much suck.
