Basically everywhere I go people complain about how they have mental or physical health issues and they need the government to take care of their issues. This usually comes up with the healthcare debate.

Are there that many people who have debilitating illnesses? I feel like this is way over represented. People coincidentally are way too gun ho about recommending medication and therapy for dealing with issues.

1. They eat like shit.

2. They do little to ZERO physical exercise.

3. They listen to idiotic groups of losers that tell them that they need accept themselves as they are and consequences be damned (ex: fat pride movement).

4. Lack of knowledge about basic human biology (see 1 and 2).

5. Poor availability and affordability of healthy products.

6. The countries that have heavily promoted feminism have had, on average, their birth rates destroyed and an average increase in the population's average age. With that, comes the usual health issues that comes with growing older.

I really need to eat more fruit for breakfast. Then again, I've tried to divorce breakfast from my daily routine. I am like -5 lbs for this week tho.

What do you mean eat like shit? If you have a healthy lunch every day (Lets say a low carb wrap) and a light dinner, are you allowed to gorge on a 7oz bag of chips on the weekends? Are you allowed to drink a diet soda at lunch? I don't know, I just reflecting my personal experiences (I have no health issues, and I do these things).

Then again I do walk outside an hour a day at the minimum.

Then again #4 lol. That thread we had last week about "do you use deodorant" and people saying no - that was disgusting. Same people probably don't brush their teeth daily or take showers.

On average, at least in the west, people just just consume far more sugar, salt, and fat. Increases average obesity, rates of diabetes (who start at much lower ages now), blood pressure, etc. Compounded with people being sedentary and doing little activity... Well, you got a recipe for disaster. A "cheat" once in a while is actually perfectly acceptable, it's a thing that allowed my diets to work over a long period of time, but the problem is that people don't cheat: they eat like trash all the time.

Plus this.

Also throw in the fact that, for the first time in modern culture, we've sort of removed the stigma of being "ill" (whether physical or mental), so people are less likely to try and hide their problems. When having carpal tunnel syndrome gets condemned as being a curse from god because you masturbate too much, or all mental illness gets dismissed as being possessed by demons, or losing a limb makes you an outcast, people are going to be far less willing to admit to something being wrong with them. But when we're constantly told that having injuries or illnesses doesn't make you a bad person, and we even tend to overcompensate to some degree by cutting those people even more slack (ie, the reason why so many Internet assholes self-diagnosed themselves as having "Assburgers" to justify being a dick or being "on the spectrum" to justify shitty social skills), people are far more likely to come forward with pretty much anything.

This this this.

Only wish society could continue to progress so men and women are treated equally and paid equally, homosexuality and gay marriage is legal and welcomed, prioritization of money over human rights and environment is discouraged, and just people being excellent to each other.

But then again, it's 2019 and we're still dealing with people making crude comments behind closed doors about grabbing women by the pussy and thinking it's okay because locker-room talk.

Oh well. Maybe we'll have a better chance once the boomer generations and above die-out?

Prejudice and discrimination are hard-wired into our brains. WHO we choose to discriminate against can change across culture, but it seems like humans need someone to point and laugh at (or try and kill), because we can't function otherwise. "Labeling" is basically a byproduct of how we process the world, and is woven into nearly every aspect of how we function. And qualitative comparison is a natural step to take once you divide the world into "this" and "that" (or "them" and "us").

It's why you get proverbs like "Me against my brother, my brother and I against our cousin, the three of us against the stranger." And why so many people have said the only way we'll ever get peace on Earth and true human solidarity is if hostile aliens show up to kill us and we have to unite against them (and why that unity will only last so long as it takes to kill the last alien).

If we could ever reach a point where everyone saw everyone else as an equal and there was no discrimination or prejudice of any kind, we wouldn't be humans any more.

People make fun of this shit, but when my whole life nearly fell apart from accepting I was unhappy, I learned just how much our thoughts affect/disgust our consciousness. I noticed improvements in my physical body when I just stopped giving a fuck about the small stuff and laugh whenever I feel like it.

People would rather hold onto ego and blame surface/outside aspects because the ego hates being wrong so much that we can find any reason to justify it. Deep down, it's a punishment to yourself and it doesn't go away...

I'm lucky to have access to the NHS where if I choose medication for Anxiety I can be a lad rat for nothing. Some folk don't have a choice though and absolutely feel they need medication. There isn't a one fix for everyone. With that said support for mental health still needs a lot of work and a better understanding of it.

People that dont have health issues obviously arent gonna talk about that with any regularity. People with life affecting health problems though are obviously gonna talk about them and its more noticeable.

While you're more likely to run into people with disabilities online, the proliferation of welfare/disability welfare programs has led to a surge in those cases. Unfortunately, those trying to game the system and those would *could* manage (if they put more effort in) ruin things for legitimate sufferers.

Oh and certain lucid dreaming techniques as documented by Carlos Castaneda can open you up to psychic attacks by brujo.

d657QoB

So that's a lot of rot. First off, the pay gap is entirely fallacious and predicated on lies. For "equal" gender pay to be a thing, you'd need equal pay for everything because you're comparing apples to oranges. And most of the places where people get offended by it being off have pretty good reasons, like sports where ad revenue is a thing.

Second, nobody has to welcome shit. While you can pass laws to make people obey almost anything you please, you can't exactly pass laws to also get them to like it. And, if you're trying to normalize something, you shouldn't want it to be "welcomed," you should want it to be treated as nothing out of the ordinary.

Third, the only way you'd get people to always be pleasant to each other is if everybody was either tripping on Soma or had been lobotomized. Either way, your utopia would pretty much suck.

It's 2019 indeed. Thought Police went out of style with 1984. I'm very sorry to tell you that we don't live in a totalitarian state, which I imagine must be a great disappointment to you since it's the only way your agendas would be forced onto the public.

This is the issue with the left right now, trying to legislate for cultural change, which only draws battle lines and polarises people.

You can have it via cultural homogeny, but it requires people are incentivised to work toward an agreed ideal, it distinctly excludes multiculturalism and particularly weak borders.
