Usually it's a specific mod out to get you. There are plenty of times when I've been hit by a suspension when they no-actioned several people in the topic who did similar in the topic, including a guy who did something that they literally -- and inaptly -- accused me of doing.
The real issue is once you have a suspension, pretty much every moderation turns into a suspension. Back under the old system, there was build-up to a suspension. Now you can get suspended off your first offense even on something that would have been a NKL under the previous system.
I've only had one suspension in the years I've been active here. And that one was fairly predictable looking back on it.
