Zeus 07/08/19 5:33:07 PM #3: | Zero, because I haven't sold anything. DiduXD posted... My friend once made $2500 off an Oliver and Company VHS. My theory is that whoever made that bid meant to type $250 but accidentally added an extra 0 since the last bid was $225. ..that's not how the bidding process works. When you put in a higher bid, the current bid only raises until it exceeds (or fails to exceed) the previous bid. If I bid $30 on an item and the current bid is $15, my bid will only show as either $15.50 or $16. However, if the last guy had actually bid more than $15 -- for example, $29 -- and his was only showing $15 because the bidder before him had bid a max of $14, then the current bid would go up to my max of $30. Conversely, if the last bid had been higher than $30, then the current bid would rise to $30 (or $31) and it would still be his bid (and I'd be asked if I want to bid again). Had somebody bid $2500 meaning to only bid $250, then the previous current bid of $225 would have gone up to whatever the previous bidder's max bid was. For it to hit $2500, at least two bidders would have needed to bid around that amount. Further, if somebody adds a 0 by accident, there's an option to retract the bid. And, even if the retraction didn't exist, if somebody didn't want to pay that much, they just wouldn't pay at all. --- (\/)(\/)|-| There are precious few at ease / With moral ambiguities / So we act as though they don't exist. ...
