regardless of your own perception of events and why they exist.

Do you believe that the straight pride movement doesn't exist purely to diminish the significance of gay pride by distilling it down to "look we're having a party too!"? This is not merely my perception of events. The only people who think "straight pride" is reasonable either don't understand what gay pride actually means, or they understand perfectly and see feigning ignorance as a good way to be dismissive of the matter.

I would have done it with the sole intent to show that LGBT people are even less tolerant than the people they accuse of intolerance, and the answer of the LGBT community has pretty much confirmed it.

You think that a glitter bomb constitutes a greater display of intolerance than systematic erosion of rights, violence (real violence, not the "that's technically assault" kind), and open hatred? Even ignoring that "if you were really tolerant you'd tolerate my intolerance" is, has always been, and will never be logically defensible, one doesn't even have to go that deep to realize you're being ridiculous.
