If anything, I think Harris' lead into that was more devastating where she clearly laid out that he picked two senators who built their reputation on segregation as his example. Although Biden flubbed the exchange when it went to busing too. Harris was absolutely correct when she pointed out that this was an area where the federal government had to take action. like that's not obscure civil rights in america history. Biden was essentially making a "states' rights" argument there in a situation that history shows states were resistant and had to be compelled. He got rescued there when the moderators retook control because damn it was spiraling out of control. It was just really bad for him. That exchange is 100% the story out of this debate unless it becomes how the moderators totally lost control after a relatively controlled first night.
