Literally none of the problems you listed would be in any way impacted by overhauling immigration.

Like, let's pick one of your examples. Gun violence? The problem there is that Republican asshats in congress are adamantly opposed to even the most mild, widely-supported measures that might have an impact. You don't need to put everything else on hold while you address that. In fact, if you did address that (by either convincing the Republicans to vote for better gun laws or replacing them with someone else who will), the problem could be solved with minimal allocation of resources or funds. It's not like we need to re-appropriate border patrol agents to crack down on gun crime - two very separate issues.

And, again, you missed my point - this isn't their problem anymore, it's yours, because they're coming to your country whether you want them to or not. Scream at your computer "Go back home" all you like, they're not going to listen to you and nor should they. You are going to have to come up with a response and "We're too busy with our own stuff, try again later," is going to solve precisely nothing for you. If you're OK with migrants coming over the border in large numbers, creating multiple humanitarian crises on the way, keep doing what you're doing because those are the results your going to get. But if you actually want these people to return home so you can focus on other issues, you're going to have to do something to address the situation that brought them to your borders in the first place.
