yeah ok then when trump suggest we bus them to your city the dem's all freak out, screaming racist and throw their hands up saying they're full

Wrong again.

When Trump suggested doing that, the people who freaked out were his own officials, suggesting that what he was doing was both staggeringly illegal and had terrible optics.

The Dems in those city? They were actually pretty cool with it. Here's the mayor of Oakland saying that all would be welcome in her city.

And here's the mayor of Seattle saying pretty much the same thing:

You know, I'll actually be impressed when you manage to get something right in this thread. I figure the law of averages means it'll happen sooner or later, even if it's by accident.

If they were, they wouldn't have drowned in a river. They would have used proper means. Not trying to cross a river known to be dangerous

They attempted to. Trump's "metering system" - which is currently under court challenge for it's (to put it lightly) dubious legality, prevented them from crossing, because now most crossings only process 10-30 asylum claims a day. Hell, it's bad enough that today union representing US Asylum Workers asked a court to rule Trump's immigration and asylum policies invalid, because they are "fundamentally contrary to the moral fabric of our Nation and our international and domestic legal obligations."

Again, they were trying to follow the rules, but the system failed them, mostly because the guy charged with running it is deliberately trying to sabotage it to the point it no longer functions.

There's laws to follow. Way too many rights for those who are here illegally. The border isn't open to everyone. People want in? There are legal ways to earn your citizenship. Our own country should always come first

Shall I assume that you think that the USA was right to turn away the MS St. Louis 80 years ago and send the Jewish refugees back to Nazi Germany?

Just asking. Because people back then were saying pretty much the same thing you are now.

Damn right I can turn a blind eye to suffering. Why? America first. Let's solve our own problems before we try to solve someone else's shit.

This is all kinds of hilarious (and borderline sociopathic, but that's a different story). Why?

Because it *is* your problem, Skippy. These people have made it your problem. You can choose to address it or choose to leave it alone, but you can't just plug your ears and say, "It's not my problem, go away and deal with it yourselves!". Because they won't and it's completely unreasonable to expect them to.

Improve their conditions back home so they don't come, or improve the US's ability to absorb them as they arrive. Those are basically your only options at this point, because the shit you're trying now sure as hell isn't working.

Let's see; we have overcrowded jails, public schools in disarray, gun violence out of control, failed war on drugs, homeless problems, etc. But you think I should give 2 shits about another country first? Like hell

They can go home, go somewhere else or come in legally. It's not sociopathic. It's called our country comes first. They become a citizen? Then they deserve every freedom and right. They earned it.
