What part of they had secured a humanitarian visa but were kept in a detention camp for months anyways doesnt compute for you? The fact that despite that you still see them as criminals really says a lot about what kind of person you are

Youre gloating about something your family did long before you were born even though there were no immigration laws back then because they really go against what this country is all about

Then wait. If you have a humanitarian visa, you know you're going to be released. You made this long journey to the place you wanted to be, your time will come. They became a victim of their own circumstance and the other people who are trying to illegally invade our country. Less of them means more people who have their visas can get in

No, it doesn't go against what our country is about. Am I gloating? Possibly. I'm happy that my family came on a boat, was allowed in and settled down in Pennsylvania next to a farming community. I'm proud that my family has fought in every major war/conflict.

Our country is/was about many things. You can view it as the melting pot. You can believe what it says on the Statue of Liberty of giving us the tired and poor...

Me? There's a wall in place. Has been for years and will be for more. There's laws to follow. Way too many rights for those who are here illegally. The border isn't open to everyone. People want in? There are legal ways to earn your citizenship. Our own country should always come first
