It does actually.

The same inalienable rights that allowed your family to come here. Being born somewhere else does not make them less valuable as human beings.

My family earned their right to come here. First one here fought for the North, rest came over in 1892. There was no forcing their way in. No invasion. You wanted in? You did it THEIR way, even back then

Be warned of the somewhat graphic image in the link below

Thats a dad and his daughter dead. There was no reason for that man and his young daughter to drown in that river because they had secured a humanitarian visa. But under Trumps zero tolerance border policy, a policy not interpreted or enforced by any previous administration, they were held in a detention camp for months for no other crime than legally applying for asylum in the US until they reached their breaking point.

Go ahead and defend that if you think the Trump administration is doing the right thing at the southern border

You're right, there was no reason for them to die. They could have stayed in El Salvador instead of trying to exploit our asylum laws.

There's a billion people on this planet living in horrible poverty. That doesn't give them the right to move here.

Absolutely. People have this bizarre mindset that because they demand it (asylum) or really want it, we HAVE to give it to them. Both the people trying to come here illegally and even members of our own country.

Last time I checked, there's laws and procedures in place to help them out so they can come here and become a contributing member of our country, just like they dreamed about.

They can proudly call themselves citizens of our country. No more hiding. No illegal status. Get sworn in and be an American.
