My take on this situation is that while Slate framed it badly, the story they were covering is still of merit - despite making the wrong party imo the "bad guy", and I felt you were just dismissing the entire thing out of hand because of it. ftr: I expect SCOTUS to rule in the government's favor on the issues of the case and have for a loooooong time.
